- What am I attempting to achieve? I wish to improve my work and are requesting some feedback

- Some solutions I have tried: I have reached out to a few of my friends who are talented builders and none of them have said what I should add, or change to my sword. I feel its not as good as I want it to be.

it is a bit hard to see, but it almost looks as though there are parts of the sword that are blocky??? I’m not sure if that is just me or the way it is. If it is that way then I strongly suggest that you fix that and make it curved. Having the blue in on the sword have a neon kind of look could look very good, and I’m not really sure what else to say as you have pretty much every detail a katana has, you could maybe add a sheath but that is all I can think of. Great job for your first sword

I suggest making the blade less bent, and making the handle a bit bigger, and maybe changing up the texture of the handle to maybe a more darker colour, but that’s really just me though. Great sword regardless!

Can you perhaps take screenshots of different angles of the sword instead of one example as the well the image is quite blurry mind uploading it directly to the forum instead of using a link?
I think it looks nice for a first attempt! Although it is not all colorful like that as some of the swords that are created in blender, or images try using some techniques. I also recommend you to add some silver texture to it instead of having the whole blade pink I think it looks good but I’m not liking the color selection, add more details and an shaper shape to it. The handle looks a little blocky it doesn’t fit with the sword in my opinion.
I definitely suggest you try following a few reference images while trying to make models. As by looking at your sword, you can add many details to the blade and the handle that can improve the overall look of the sword.
Other than that it looks like good are you going for a normal katana sword or from a movie?
Sorry for the late response! I completely forgotten about this regarding the model i like the improvements you’ve made however just a small suggesiton.
Katana models looks alright. The blade of the sword has a black color as you can see and I think the color scheme doesn’t match maybe go for a silver material or something along the lines at the start i wouldn’t make it the same color as the handle. Going for a gold color for the (rain guard could work?)
I’d say amazing job but take time when selecting the perfect colors that’ll match on your sword.

For the 1st attempt, this is really good to see. You’ve made a pretty good sword, but I would improve the handle of the blade a little bit.
I don’t think the yellow triangles on the blade goes well with the sword, but those are my thoughts really.

Make the handle longer, it should be long enough to place two hands on and still have room left. Otherwise it looks great!
