Hey Developers!
I’m working on a side project which will slowly develop into a game that, for your reference, can be best described as similar to Left 4 Dead. The project is in its early design stage right now to the point where I am working on some of the fundamental systems, and gameplay is not yet fully determined.
I am looking for a developer who has experience building weapon systems on Roblox, and who would like to work together on this project. The system would include ranged weapons (Various guns with different bullets/spread, Rocket Launcher, Crossbow), Melee weapons, and Throwable objects. Exact details will be discussed one on one, but here are some of the criteria/thoughts that I have right now:
→ Fundamental system that would handle which weapons/objects a player has and can use. Some sort of custom backpack system.
→ Interacting with weapons/objects in the world: Picking up weapons, ammo, and objects.
→ All guns use the same system and bullets/spread/speed and other variables are relatively simple to change.
→ Modular approach which will make it possible to extend the system at a later point in time, and makes it easy to add new weapons/objects.
→ Will work for PC, Xbox and Mobile players (to some extend. I’m thinking of an auto-aim like tap-to-shoot-target for Mobile).
We will iron out all the details by discussing them one on one. I am more than happy to discuss all the details to find out what you think would be the best approach, and to hear about what you think would be a fair price for your work/time. I will take care of models / effects / particles / GUI, but I’m assuming you know how to work with those. I would prefer to pay you in Robux directly through the platform (100% DevEx-able) but USD payments can be arranged with the necessary paperwork.
To clarify, this will remain a ‘personal’ project for the foreseeable future. I am more than happy to discuss what you would like to be paid and prefer to keep communication close and personal. What I’m mostly trying to say with this is that this project might go anywhere, but nothing is guaranteed. Don’t expect to become part of a studio/team as this expectation might not be met. All funds that are promised to you will be reserved and are available at all times, but please do not have more expectations for the foreseeable future other than a collaborative freelancing job.
Interested? Neat! Please send me a private message on the developer forum! I would appreciate hearing about your past work, feel free to include any playable demos or other relevant things you’ve worked on. Do you know someone or have you worked with someone who would be up to collaborate, but does not have a DevForum account? Feel free to forward their message to me or ask them to approach me through Twitter.
Looking forward to work with you! Thank you for reading through my post!
