I own one of the largest Roblox clothing groups, with thousands of 2D clothing items on sale. I have tested the Marketplace repeatedly and have evidence that relevant 2D clothing does not appear in regular catalog searches, while 3D UGC clothing and other avatar items do. You would have to specifically select 2d clothing asset categories for them to appear.
For example, no 2d assets appear at all in these categories:
No category in catalog, just priced at the 2d clothing current price floor at 5 Robux:
What discovery are 2D creators paying for if our items are hidden from the main search results?
If this issue is addressed, it would improve my development experience because 2D clothing would have a fair opportunity to be discovered alongside 3D UGC items.
I am requesting that Roblox investigate why 2D clothing is excluded or heavily deprioritized in Marketplace search and provide equal, relevant search visibility for all avatar clothing types.
its so obvious roblox never cared for 2d creators from the very beginning , from stealing bots , to horrid dmca counter issues from verified stealing groups, from appeals never restoring images , to now catalog being insanely bugged when it comes to searching 2d clothing
heres a report that never got fixed despite being reported since months now
now our earnings dont even make enough breakeven yet alone create enough profit to continue creating and uploading or pay 2d designers for commissions , roblox is doing everything to wipe off clothing community and shove 3d clothing onto the faces of players who still despite everything dont want 3d clothing , all outfit games and even avatars on catalog avatar creator use 2d clothing . @roblox fix your mess
Honestly, I’m tempted to dump this as a bug report since I know those get triaged.
Currently, if you search for 2D clothing, you just don’t get any of it. “Innovation Security” should show a bunch of our uniforms, but all I get is unofficial UGC and other items.
Roblox doesn’t care about 2D shirts; it only cares about what makes money for them. This update didn’t completely kill 2D shirts because they didn’t want to and because they know there is demand—after all, they stopped keeping just 30% and started taking 70% of the profit. Roblox knows it can’t remove 2D shirts, but it will drain everything it can from them and completely degrade them in the Marketplace until everyone forgets they exist, until it can finally remove 100% of 2D shirts.
It’s honestly probably deliberate. Pretty disgusting.
2D clothes will be phased out eventually, at least that seems to be the direction Roblox is headed, and this looks like more evidence of it.
I hope this can get fixed though.
bump roblox staff please fix this issue already , we know u guys want to end 2d clothing but look at your stocks and reconsider the direction ur company is heading at with this treatment towards creators
