30-day appeal deadline mechanism flaw for wrongly restricted groups

The group I manage was locked due to its association with the DMCA penalty work order. At the same time as the penalty took effect, I was dealing with the experience of the copyright removal work order. In the same month, I also applied for the group ban, but the Roblox support team employees did not handle it properly within the validity period of that month. When I specifically initiated an appeal and review against the group ban, The Roblox support team first rejected all my applications for review on the grounds that I had leaked others’ privacy. When I lodged my second appeal, they directly stated that the penalty had been issued beyond the 30-day appeal period.

Afterwards, I supplemented the entire course of events, explained the division of rights and responsibilities, and resubmitted the work order, applying for a manual re-examination of the group’s penalty determination. The official staff directly replied that they could not provide any further information on this issue. The work order was permanently archived and the case was closed, and there was no channel for supplementary evidence or a second manual review.

The fixed 30-day appeal window period does not take into account the scenario of parallel handling of multiple penalties: Group bans and copyright removers are handled by two separate review teams. Users handle multiple platform penalty affairs simultaneously, objectively missing the group appeal deadline, but the system has no buffer or exception review channel.

Roblox supports only providing a standardized response that “penalties cannot be reviewed if they have been issued for more than 30 days.” This hard and fast rule does not take into account real-world scenarios such as group co-bans and concurrent handling of multiple types of penalties. Groups that have been locked without fault have no channels for remedial appeals.

Expected behavior
I hope the Roblox staff will review my group again and lift these unnecessary and unfair restrictions on it; I would be extremely grateful if they could help me.

Are your administrators deliberately targeting Chinese people, or are they just failing to take action?

Hi, Roblox doesn’t target any group. DMCAs are sent by IP holders. Roblox takes action at one’s request. As mentioned in their support ticket, if you believe your content was not copied/inspired by anything, and you are the rightful owner of the content you uploaded, you need to send a counter DMCA Notice to the “IP” Holder.

Roblox has no legal rights to send DMCAs on content they don’t own. Please make sure you read more about DMCAs: DMCA guidelines | Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub
I believe Roblox’ systems are working and not to blame here.
