I’ve been working on a 2D io game, and currently have it free to play in beta.
I’ve examined player interactions, and half of them love it, and half hate it.
Is this just a result of sponsoring games too early on?
I’d appreciate any feedback from your own perspectives.
I mean- no offence but is it possible people just dont like it?
I think it’s pretty obvious people don’t like it. Maybe I should’ve worded it differently but I’m just looking for people to play my game and share their own opinions and perspectives on why they think the game is so disliked.
Ok I went in a played it for a good while, Its just a less refined Mope.io- I mean you didnt even reskin it you just remade it and well its amazing to be able to remake something if you want a dedicated playerbase its gotta be original. I mean if you reskinned it id be more hesitant to criticize it as much if you had dedicated time to making custom models and art for your game BUT you didnt- I think if you took the time to make it yours it could be a fun little game to play around with, aside from that ive noticed the movement is a bit floaty and you tend to get stuck on things, also the original mope has branched evolutions so I think that would be something to look into, maybe carnivores could get more XP from eating meat then plants and all that. TLDR make the game unique and make the game YOURS and it could floruish

I plan to reskin everything on official release, although the foods I recreated. They may look a little bit similar so I might need to give them my own style.
Regarding the other stuff, I’ll definitely add them when all the core features are implemented.
I think this is it, there were many complaints about the game being a copy but I didn’t expect that many people to dislike the game just because of the fact.
people do NOT like clones, thats just a fact, if your game isnt unique within a genre that can kill it
takes me 2 seconds to type mope .io on my browser and get a better experience…
