GAME: Villagism | Play on Roblox
Short game description (unimportant):
It’s a town “roleplay”. There are no exact rules specifying what you must do as each role (you can start killing everyone, and probably expect to be killed), so it’s more of a simulator of town with various classes.
The important part:
The game is finished and is being advertised. The algorithm seems to like the game for now. But from what I know this may just be how algorithms work, maybe it just pushes new players into the game even though it’s mid, just to get data?
I’m worried about those two stats:
(From Analytics / Acquisition / Home Recommendations page)
To my understanding, the first one indicates a problem with thumbnail CTR, and the second one, a problem with low player retention. Am I right? What should I do to improve those?
Make more stuff to do in your game. Especially if it’s roleplay, there needs to always be some new item or some area or role or thing to buy, make more things to do. Especially endgame content. Make things to do even after completing the game or getting all items.
Make a reason to come back. Maybe global events that happen, like a merchant restocks or some aliens come down. Maybe even daily rewards would help with retention.
Make the game easy to understand. You should be able to instantly know what to do without even reading the description of the game (though the description could help explain basic mechanics) and if you have a tutorial, it should be really short.
Lastly, make your thumbnails simple with as little text as possible to kind of show how cool the game is, maybe add a little trailer. The icon should be flashy enough to draw people’s eyes to your game and not other games.
Good luck, you will need it especially with Roblox’s new updates.

Personally, I played it, and your onboarding was lackluster. It was a lot of text and not much gameplay other than walking and reading.
