When I want to test a simple constraint or joint, my first instinct is to go into Run mode, select one of the parts, and move it around.
However, with the move tools being completely unconfigurable and all, there is no way to tell them NOT to break the exact joint I am trying to test. So, if I don’t want that to happen, I have to resort to ridiculous things like (ab)using AlignPosition which the tools will not outright delete whenever I drag one of the parts.
And I hate setting up AlignPositions for this purpose!
Or maybe I could just select all of the parts, which may not be what I want. Dragging something also deactivates WeldConstraints thanks to their “auto-configuring” nature, causing everything to flop out of alignment permanently. Because that is totally intuitive and useful.
Is there any alternative to the inflexible Studio move tools that I can use just for this purpose?
