I have thought of a sneaky way to trick exploiters into thinking their exploits work but I am not sure if it would be worth my time or not. The idea is to compare the exploiter’s fire rate, recoil and spread value setting for the weapon they are using to the servers setting, the server will then correct these settings on the server and other clients but will not correct it visually for the exploiting client, so it will instead make the exploiter’s screen look like their firing at their settings, but on the server and for the other clients it will fire the correct amount, which will hopefully create an illusion that their exploit is working. Would this be worth it to confuse exploiters?
No. In every chat where there is an exploiter everyone goes like “HACKER”. Most exploiters are trolls and expect to get reactions out of people. If the trolls aren’t getting reactions out of people then why continue exploiting.
But surely this would be good because they would give up if they don’t get a reaction
?
Or you could just ban them right away. Much simpler.
You probably shouldn’t try making an exploiter mad because that would only be more motivation for them to find ways to ruin the game for everybody.
lol
That’s not sneaky, that just sounds like proper security to some capacity. A client will still be able to modify whatever they please on their end and you just have to reject any replication requests that they make if they trip your security checks. So sure, they can fire rapidly on their end, but it won’t mean anything if you don’t propagate changes.
It’s never worth it to think with the mindset of bullying exploiters and putting yourself at the same low as them, think about your game’s security instead.
Damn, I think ill replace this and instead make it so the server rolls out a bright red carpet for exploiters, then they wont want to exploit my game.
Or do it jailbreak style and trap them in a cage :3
But surely I should be bullying exploiters, as their exploiting in my game.
If you have that kind of time to waste, then do what you want. It’s your game. Not sure why you’d post this in the first place then, looks very clear to me like you have the answer if there was even a question to begin with. If your intention wasn’t to receive any actual kind of support, then you shouldn’t have posted this. Do not abuse forum categories.
