Abnormal frame times in microprofiler

Hello, I have been having issues with my game on Mac systems, I run into this abnormally long frame every few frames and its causing noticeable hitching in game. The game itself is pretty lightweight so I think this may be an engine issue?. It does not give me much info to go off of. (screenshot below)

I am curious to know if anyone has run into this and may have a fix?

that acquireFramebuffer spike under waitOnGpu pretty much rules out your scripts, physics and GC btw, your cpu thread is literally just sitting there waiting for macos’s compositor to hand back a frame buffer

known issue with GPU/metal compositor stuff on mac tbh, not really your game’s fault. couple things i’d check: try full fullscreen instead of windowed, windowed mode goes through macOS’s WindowServer compositor and that can cause random frame pacing hitches. if you’re on an external monitor or a custom refresh rate that could also be causing sync drops that stall acquireFramebuffer. also worth opening activity monitor and checking gpu history to see if something in the background (dock/spaces animations etc) spikes at the same exact moment as your hitch

if it still happens on a clean setup, fullscreen, no cpu spikes, then yeah it’s basically an engine/metal thing on roblox’s side and not something you can fix from scripts

Ok thank you, this is comforting to know as I was slightly alarmed by the hitching. I will do some testing with your suggestions tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
