Ad credits wasting a lot of worked income

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to sponsor my game for a certain period of time.

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because the current menu is very confusing and wasted a LOAD OF MY MONEY.

This current menu is beyond confusing with the way it works.
We used to be able to run ads/sponsorships for a certain amount of time, for a certain amount of robux chosen by us. this would then show the game based on how much was invested into the ad.

The new system is confusing AND made me waste over 75k robux. This is not an issue for me however many other developers would work AGES for that money only for it to get wasted.

I suggest adding more labels in this menu that mention YOUR AD WILL BE RENEWED EVERY SINGLE DAY and adding more WARNINGS once you are about to pay that mention your ads will run forever and rain every single robux you earned.

-75,744 worth of income because of a Roblox-made error about not specifying things properly.
I’m not seeking compensation but this should get fixed so that others won’t waste their money on this. Please fix this menu, make it easier to use and understand.

Unfortunately, if your game doesn’t immediately pick up on the algorithm, if your current ad purchases have bad click rates, bad general stats- you’re not going to succeed this way. Not unless you plan to spends tens of thousands more.

This advertisement system is complete garbage and only benefits major companies and major game development teams since they can purchase using USD, rather than some amounts based on the limiting ROBUX purchases you can make on the website.

Considering how confusing the system is, your best bet is to make an attempt to advertise your game via social media, and or to big content creators. But, that’s just me.

Roblox needs to improve on this system 1000%.

It’s not about the algorithm, but more like how the ads credit were taken from the account without any warning out of my account. (Thanks for the tips though, I am planning to sponsor my game using help of influencers, however I wanted to give it a try with roblox’ own system)

All of that robux was drained without any of my knowledge. While the game did improve over time, my robux was still being taken without me being notified in any way (and since I’m busy with college and Robux keeps pending in my account any day, I didn’t notice any significant drainage from my income. I’m not really worried about the robux that I lost, and I’m more worried about the fact that it was happening with no way for me to notice it. No warning on the ads page, no warning on my inbox or anywhere)

The page itself, does it’s job. In fact it does the bare minimum it should do, however the confusion comes on how the robux or ad credit is distributed and how it’s being taken. It’s one of those minimum viable products delivered…

I understand this, I believe it’s pretty unfortunate that Roblox really doesn’t tell you anything in general. They believe if you did something, you know what you did.

However, if you’re concerned about the ads taking Robux out of your account, I suggest turning off duration being “Run Continuously”. It’ll automatically take it out since you’re never stopping it manually. This is meant to allow for ads to continue to run with the hope of it helping your game.

If you’re concerned that the Robux is constantly being taken out, you’re able to set a Custom Duration.

This way, you’re able to manage how often you want ads up, and you can determine how much Robux can be taken from your account. 2 days is the minimum amount of days for Custom Duration.

I believe this might be helpful to you.

Thank you for letting me know. Unfortunately, nothing is foolproof and there might be somebody like me which misses some stuff, which is why Roblox should make this less confusing and add more big and colored labels that warn the users of how this is going, or adding inbox messages that remind you every few days that your game is being advertised in case you’re not planning to keep it going.

I will be trying diff methods for the future however, and won’t do these mistakes. Learnt from this mistake, which shouldn’t have happened to begin with, but unfortunately that’s what happens when there’s a lot of miscommunication and the product they delivered failed to communicate with the consumer (in this case me)

For sure, I 100% believe that Roblox should alert you of advertisement renewals, especially considering it can be very expensive for some people. They forbid to clarify anything on the platform and, as a result, issues like this happen. Glad this helped you!

This might be off topic but assuming you have a good icon, thumbnail, and good game how much should I spend idk how new ads work

Probably give it a try with the lowest amount possible and see how that works for one day. or how much time you’re planning to advertise. Not sure what would be the best, since I’m just starting to work with the advertising, but a test run should be able to give you some metrics :]

I completely agree, ads are insanely bullshit imo, as I have seen they are really hard to use and 1 little mistake on anything and it can completely ruin it, Roblox really needs to rework it…
