As a Moroccan developer it is a current insult on how Arabic (foreign language) is being prioritized, evident as me receiving an Arabic message despite me not being an Arabic speaker, but not Berber/Amazigh languages despite them being the original languages of Morocco and the Maghreb region.
Adding Berber/Amazigh would not only show representation but also expand userbase.
I’d rather have French and Berber languages than Arabic.
I also found out that they translated our games without consent to a non-presenting language, seriously if Roblox truly cares about presentation and diversity, they should add the Country’s actual languages, this is like saying Argentina is an European country because it can speak Spanish, actual insults.
At least inform us if our games are auto-translated.
I think it would be beneficial to provide some context as to why this is insulting if one of the official languages of Morocco is Arabic.
I’m all for more languages, but I don’t get why it’s inherently insulting. Why can’t this be a simple oversight from prioritising the most widely spoken languages in the world?
I’d rather not get political but it’s purely inherited from politics, once you realize what Arabs did to the native Moroccan population during caliphate years you’ll know why.
Arabs are not and will never be native to Morocco, like I said, it’s like saying Argentina is an European country because they speak Spanish.
TL;DR Forced conversion and violence. (Arabs enslaved many Berbers and Arab leaders pretend this didn’t happen.)
My point is: Add Berber languages, don’t make Arabic the default language and separate Morocco from Middle East in statistics and such (MENA)

I’m Moroccan and Amazigh, and I won’t lie to you, my Arabic isn’t amazing. Currently, I think adding Arabic to Roblox could be pretty good, but for Amazigh it would be a bit more complicated in my opinion. Very few people write in Amazigh, and reading it is much more difficult.
But I think being able to write in Amazigh in the Roblox chat would be great for expressing this culture virtually, because if you write in Amazigh in the chat, you’ll only get “#” symbols or Roblox logos.
