Add options to customize username appearance

As a Roblox user, I’m unable to change how my username appears on the website and in-game chat. Currently, username colors are calculated with a script for in-game chat (1) while they’re just the same plain color on the website. I wish there were more ways to customize username appearance.

Please consider adding the following:

  • An option to pick basic username colors for the website and chat. Also, allow developers to disable them within their games, so they can still assign specific name colors for group roles, gamepasses, teams, etc.

  • More advanced options such as fonts, alternating colors, and gradients for usernames with Roblox Plus.

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve the user experience by giving users another way to express themselves through their usernames.

roblox plus is a 3rd party browser extension, official staff can’t and won’t add features for it (u probably meant premium).

for in-game chat, devs already have 100% control over name colors using textchatservice. forcing a global user color setting is a terrible idea for accessibility anyway. players would just pick black on a dark UI or white on a light UI to make their names invisible and bypass moderation. :writing_hand:

How long have you been living under a rock for? Premium became Roblox Plus back in April.

could just let us choose one of the existing name colors. Also the color of the chat has no affect on moderation

Adding onto this, text outlines would prevent players from trying to hide inappropriate usernames.
