Over the years of development, projects go unfinished and teams disband, but their work is left behind. Many of these projects are within Groups that were created with other users, but once these projects go offline, these groups are stuck in a state of indefinite limbo, where they cant be deleted, but also have no plans of being reused. The biggest issue with this is that it pollutes the community page and user profiles with content that is now irrelevant.
I’d love to leave these groups that I own and are no longer used, but they have a lot of valuable assets.. I’d like to be able to access these assets if needed in the future, but dont want the groups that hold them to be forefront on the communities page and especially not on my profile. I’m also not fond of the idea of leaving these groups to be claimed by other random users, because it gives them access to my old intellectual property.
I’m proposing the ability to archive a group, where its assets are still accessible in the creation page, but it does not have public visibility.
Currently, the only way to archive a group is to move ownership to an alt account, which is not a reasonable long-term solution.
If Roblox solves this issue, I’d be able to confidently use communities for development, and could leave the 10+ “archive” groups I own.
