I have been playing around with effects and overlays a bit and made this, Im not too happy with the text but I like the way the render is blended with the background. Any feedback is appreciated!

the only real issue i can see here is that the pirate looks stiff. try a more dynamic pose with the legs and you should be sorted.

The background and the render of your character aren’t both made in blender? Wow I would’ve not noticed if I was just looking at it.
I see you are using a rig, you could maybe add some pose to its legs. Other than that, it looks great.

The pirate looks a bit dark. You could try highlighting him so he stands out more.

I do need to do better posing, I hope to improve that.
That was somewhat intentional; I wanted it to look like the render was on the pirate ship.
