The idea is simple, an option that changes part selection to additive or subtractive in either case clicking on nothing or a locked part does well nothing and clicking on an unlocked part either adds or subtracts it from the current selections. Photoshop has an option for this and it is a godsend that can make working with selections a godsend.
You can hold Ctrl and click to do that
The problem with Ctrl+click is that if you click a locked part BAM there goes all of your selection, and you can’t use ctrl+z to get the selection back. And sometimes you may just want to box select a group of items to deselect them. Say I have a space ship and I accidentally selected a bunch of smaller ships (around 50) below it because of the camera angle. Instead of ctrl+clicking each one, I might just want to drag around them and remove them from the selection.
There’s also shift + click, which is perfect for both of your scenarios. Allows you to select nothing without deselecting everything and allows you to drag-deselect.
Unfortunately the problem with that especially when working with small parts is that you can’t alway be sure you unselected the right part or selected a different part and it would be nice if there was a way to only un select or only add to your selection.
And maybe for ROBLOX to not make selection handles 800% bigger than the actual 3D adornments, that would be nice. RIP editing small parts.
Roblox is missing a tool that is only selection, no dragging. Just about every time I use roblox’s default tools, I’m reminded that cmdutl is simply more professional than the default tools.
I agree and it would totally make sense to have two options for the dragger tool an option like it is now and an additive/subtractive option that doesn’t drag things.
