Erm, the idea is good but that’s a lot of work honestly. Widgeon is a god-tier developer so…it’ll be pretty expensive to remake his entire game.

Getting a job like this done may take entire years since you’re planning on building a small team with no set plan for payment. And there’s LOADS of content that has to be overlooked and updated to fit the scripter or builder’s style or standards.

Developers dont really wanna wait for revenue, since a lot of projects fail. Usually they want a monthly plan at least.

Not trying to kill your creativity here, but you shouldnt start an idea that’ll be super stressful or painful later on. Any developer that has just as much experience as Widgeon will probably charge like 100-300 dollars USD.

If you wanna remake one of Widgeon’s games, i suggest going with something easier. Like Lumber INC 3.

Oi, Widgeon has released AEGIS Alpha to the community. So we are going to be working on that. AKA modifying it and so on. Not starting from scratch.

Revenue alone is really only an acceptable form of payment if you’re an already established developer and have proof that your games succeed. Otherwise, without a strong track record there’s no way for developers to know whether or not this game will produce any profit at all, so a percentage revenue could amount to nothing. Since you don’t have a strong track record of previously successful games, it’s going to be near impossible to hire developers without paying them some form of physical currency.

Also, I’m assuming you’re paying each developer 15-20% when in reality, certain aspects of development require more work and thus should be given a higher percentage than other positions. In general, the coder should receive between 40-50%, the builder 25-40%, UI/graphics <5% (and more often than not, graphic designers are paid by commission rather than percentage).
