Hello! recently it has come to my attention that my MAIN username U_M gets flagged by Roblox now and whys that? Me and my friend did some digging onto every username with 3 characters and normal words such as “Meat, Down, Dawn” alone these usernames are “inappropriate for usage now”. How does this fix the aftermath of the filter you may ask? It doesn’t, this is the aftermath of them recensoring terms using most definitely an ai bot.
Unfortunately u_m was caught in the crossfire as long as these other similar usernames: u_a

u_q
u_t
u_y
Essentially this is a username filtering bug and theres dozens of badly censored terms now, reasoning for making this is these shouldn’t be affected at all over the aftermath of the name filter. Especially random strings such as ut8 ut7 ut0.
Expected behavior
At least fix some of these incorrect filterings.
Dawn, down, meat, u_m. And many more, i don’t expect much of a change but its a simple fix to a mistake that cannot be fixed most definitely without a bug report here most of these terms shouldve never been filtered.
Yes this indeed not normal behaviors, luckily from what i see I don’t appear to be affected by this problem. However i still think this should be looked into as its already concerning enough knowing random terms like this is being censored out of nowhere despite having no meaning or context.
It’s mind boggling to me how they censored things like- [“hat”, “hats”, “ken”, “dawn”, “down”, “guy”, and “cook”] can be censored in usernames or censored in general i don’t get it at all. Am i missing something with these terms? They seem perfectly fine to me? Unless I’m missing something i don’t know?
I legit question why they even try investing in AI it helps sometimes and yet still always finds a way to fail in the process. Can you guys like actually look into this?
I noticed it via a documentary tweet from a friend/known community member Zenha on X
His post detailing it but he covered what got flagged after the “Fix”
But its primarily strange because it only happened after the recent username filter error got fixed which caused inappropriate usernames to get through the censor filter.
However many random words such as “down, ken, sock” and more being affected by this. I have used the u_m username on my account for years with no issues until it was tossed into the filter.
