I know the devforum isn’t the right place to report bugs like this, but since this is such an extreme problem that is not only affecting me, but thousands of others and has gone under the radar for nearly a year, this seems like the only place to report this
Backstory
On December 13th my main Roblox account of 7 years was terminated out of nowhere for “creating or using an account to avoid an enforcement action taken against another account” (moderator note later changed to “linked to an account banned for a severe violation of our Community Standards”) Keep in mind on that very day I wasn’t even active on Roblox, I had only played one game (Bee swarm simulator) for a couple of minutes and that was it.
Also keep in mind that the Decision method clearly states “We used automated systems to make this decision.”
Prior to this, my account only had two 1-day bans for the year.
And also, I have 11 other accounts linked to my email, and none of them got banned. Only my main one.
I suspect this happened because my account was hacked about a year and a half ago, and the hacker had changed the email into his own, but support restored my original email to the account back in October and I was still hit with this.
“Roblox Appeals” is useless
Trying to appeal your Roblox account for your behavior or the behavior of an alt through Support is usually also handled by an AI automated system. Unfortunately tho, 99.999% of the time, the AI auto-rejects every appeal sent, no matter what it says.
In my case, I’ve sent over 130 appeals since the day I got terminated and all of them were obviously rejected. But there’s some people who have submitted hundreds, possibly a thousand appeals and haven’t had any luck.
The time it takes for an appeal to get rejected is also extremely inconsistent, even if you don’t spam appeals. It can take a couple days, or a couple hours, couple minutes or just a few seconds! The fastest time an appeal of mine was rejected was in just 14 seconds!!
Since AI appealing is broken, people have resorted to just trying to fool it or bypass it in some way to get an approved appeal, since telling it the truth doesn’t do anything. Some people have literally made a list of blocked keywords which make the AI auto-reject an appeal. It’s really bad since an actual problematic person (like an exploiter or worse) could potentially use this vulnerability to get themselves unbanned, completely ruining the point of this system.
I know Roblox is a huge platform and it likely needs an automated appeals system since theres billions of users, but the AI is just not ready for handling stuff like this yet!!
“Human” support is somehow even worse
Yup, i’m sadly not joking.
If in the support form you instead pick “I was moderated for content or assets I created” you will (most of the time) get a support ticket and therefore a real human to review your case.
Sadly tho, the chance of getting unbanned from a human is somehow even less than the AI. Some got lucky, but most didn’t get any help.
Their response time is usually around a day or less for me likely since i’m in the EU, but I’ve seen cases where they take 30+ days to respond!!
In my case I only got help from the first support ticket I had sent. After being rejected I asked the person to inform me of what account mine was linked to, and they actually told me! Tho I think I just got extremely lucky there, as most others who try to ask support the same question don’t get any response.
Basically every other support ticket I’ve sent (about 16) haven’t been helpful. They always say an appeal was already submitted and rejected and refuse to do anything, and when I try asking them for more information or a re-review they refuse to do anything.
And then there’s some times where support acts really stupidly.
For context, I’m in the EU and here the timeframe to appeal an account ban is 6 months, instead of the usual 30 days.
Yet, 2 support mods told me the ban couldn’t be reviewed since it was applied more than 30 days ago.
(I still got the usual “an appeal was already submitted” response for any other tickets i had sent during and after these 2)
The funniest one was when the mod somehow thought I had submitted an appeal for a game ban? ![]()
I don’t remember saying anything about a game ban in the support form so I don’t know how this guy came up with this conclusion ![]()
That’s about it for all my attempts at contacting Roblox support themselves.
I tried submitting an ADROIT Out-of-court dispute since I’m in the EU, but they couldn’t review it since I’m still a minor. So really the only option I have is to get unbanned by some miracle from Roblox themselves..
So why do these bans even happen in the first place?
Well there’s a lot of reasons, and all of them lead to false bans sadly.
- Shared device - if an account gets banned on a device shared by multiple people, and another person uses a different account on the same device it could lead to an enforcement ban. This barely works as intended tho because various households have a device, shared between multiple people like siblings, and if one of them gets banned so do the others.
- Shared internet network - Same thing, but the accounts share the same internet or Wi-Fi network. Yet again a catalyst for false terminations because of public networks (i.g School or Work)
- Shared IP - Same thing, but the accounts have a common or similar IP address. Once again results in false bans due to typically being a shared device OR a VPN.
- Shared email - When two accounts share the same email address. Usually when this happens it can easily be appealed if the poisoned email is yours and you appeal it through the main account that caused the termination, BUT if your account was previously hacked and the email address was changed, only a single account of yours could be banned since Roblox still seems to save previous emails linked to an account and with no way to appeal the original account, since it’s not even owned by you (What in my opinion caused my enforcement ban)
There’s probably many other reasons why they happen, but keep in mind most of the time they ALL lead to FALSE terminations, and appealing them is borderline impossible.
I’m not the only one being affected by this. Hundreds if not thousands of others are being faced with the exact same problem and since we’re not any popular or influential figures on the platform, Roblox doesn’t try helping us.
This has been an ongoing problem for well over a YEAR now, and especially since October as that is when these enforcement ban waves have started.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ROBLOXBans/
This subreddit is full of people constantly getting enforcement banned nearly every day and only a very tiny amount have had their appeals approved or accounts restored.
In conclusion
Roblox seriously needs to step up and improve their support. Less of a focus on constantly automating everything with very clearly unprepared AI, and more of an actual helpful support team who are willing to help recover your account or appeal any bans.
Every person who has been falsely banned for this should have their ban revoked, since it is clearly an error that is affecting hundreds, possibly thousands of dedicated players who had been playing for years, and demotivating them and making them think all hope is lost.
The moderation has always been bad, but support being awful as well just makes it extremely hard for people to not just play, but also work in peace without fear of losing EVERYTHING they have built and all of the work and tears they had put into their accounts or creations all because of some robot who malfunctions every second..
