Just 30 minutes ago my friend’s account got terminated because of “Directing Users Off-Platform”, I am not here to complain I am pretty sure this is a mistake. My friend uploaded a video, including white and black static noise which probably caused the AI to read it as QR Codes to another platform or site.
Now he already opened a support ticket, and waiting on a response in the meantime I am posting about this bug so it does not happen with others.
Are you a beginner, apparently? Roblox does this all the time, not only the game’s resources may be affected, the game itself may be deleted without explanation, and your account may be deleted along with the game. This is normal behavior. Roblox even moderates its own resources, so there’s nothing to be surprised about.
I am aware of Roblox’s sub-optimal moderation, but that does not mean it should be expected as normal behavior, especially when this is definitely not intended to happen at all. No other platform has this kind of moderation. If I stole a piece of candy from a store every day, would the store owners be happy at me for doing it, and call it off as a ‘normal occurrence’?
I am objectively correct when I say that he would not be fine with it. Maybe one time he’d let it off, but the same guy, every day is going to get annoying.
This argument is going nowhere, and I know you won’t admit that you are wrong, but I already know that you are, so please stop feeding into it, and get on with your day. Toodles!
You just probably misinterpreted my words. I’m telling you that this is normal for Roblox, its moderation is based on very low-quality AI and it has been going on for a very long time and does not lead anyone. Read the forum there are hundreds of the same cases.
Then I don’t understand your annoyance, do you think that now you will send Roblox an error message and it will abandon AI moderation and hire live people? But think what you want.
Of course they will unlock it. Such appeals are usually easy to pass. But only with game resources. And of course Roblox won’t fix his moderation system because it suits him.
I simply posted the post as a bug-report, A bug is unintended behavior, and this appears to be unintended, as they unbanned him only a couple of minutes after he appealed.
In my post, I did not suggest replacing AI with human moderators, as that would not be an optimal solution. I did not propose a solution at all, I simply put this as a bug-report so Roblox could investigate and fix it if possible.
A possible solution would be to improve the AI, but I am sure this is something Roblox has already thought of, They may be already working on it, or there may be technical limitations, I simply don’t know.
In the post I said that I am not complaining and that I am simply reporting this as a bug. Before my friend even appealed, I already knew Roblox would probably reply quickly and unban him which they did.
Real moderators should be paid a salary. And AI is very cheap. Well, some innocent boy got hurt, and that’s fine. What will he do, leave the platform? And okay, a hundred others will come in his place.
AI is expensive in the long run, and it was my company that got effected by this, costing us a huge revenue loss. If your unaware what your talking about, just don’t talk, its simple.
