AICO Tab Shortcut causes issues for the Command Bar tab key

Description

When you open Roblox Studio for the first time and you try to press TAB on autocomplete, nothing happens.

Causing flag is in the Private Message along with a video.

Re-production Steps

(See video, in Private Message)

  • Open Roblox Studio
  • Go to an Empty Baseplate
  • Go here:
    image
  • Type in something like game.Pl get the autocomplete result, press TAB
  • Observe

Expected Result

TAB triggers the autocomplete selection thing, and what TAB keys usually would do.

so game.Pl should have turned into game.Players by autocomplete, because the TAB key selects the autocomplete, if it shows up on your screen

Actual Result

Nothing happens when you press TAB, AICO is conflicting, you have to open a Script and press TAB or something, and then you can use the command bar normally again.

I think soon I will be able to write a book about AICO.

I have same issue with command bar, but it began without modifying any flags. Begun after updating to newest version 0.700.0.700935, no beta features enabled.
Autocomplete tooltip shows up and updates as I type, but tab key has no effect. Autocomplete still works in scripts, no issue.

(I’ll throw this here, since I don’t see reason to make seperate report which has same issue at the end.)

Hello all,

The issue is fixed in multiline command bar, would you try enable multi-line command bar beta feature and see the issue is fixed?

It doesn’t happen there… But…

This multi-line thing, it’s kinda like a Script Editor. And the Re-production Steps describe that it doesn’t happen in the Script Editor. So it kinda makes sense?

Are there plans to keep going with that “multi-line command bar”? I am not really a fan of it.

Not at all. Not even with that floating controls over the entire command line.

Do I have to make a bug report about this? I can only upload videos that are are <= 10 MB on the forum and I don’t like external links that much.

Because, I don’t think that Roblox fixes these “in-time”.

As of 12/10/25, I can confirm pressing tab indeed does not autocomplete in the Command Bar.

Issue is still happening, I’ve been noticing it since weeks ago

Hi just want to confirm - does this still happen in multiline command bar? You can enable it from beta feature.

Devforum decided to notify me only 16 days later.
And yes I have multiline-beta feature enabled but my command bar is still acting one-line and being the classic command bar, so there’s 2 issues at play here

Re-opened this because a Fast Flag FFlagAICOCustomizedTabShortcut2 was removed, and you can no longer turn the flag off to fix the tab key issues.

Using the new Beta is not a fix. It might doesn’t happen on the New Command-Line Beta, but I am waiting for the feedback about that Command-Line to be taken and implemented.
