As a Roblox developer, it is currently impossible to allow users to “wear” Emotes they have found in-experience on their roblox website avatars. The API for this does not exist.
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because my experience Clip It, which allows details custom character creation, sharing, and UGC purchases, would encourage more UGC Emotes purchases.
Users love to create custom outfit in Clip It, share them on our feed, then have other users purchase them on the website & wear them. This works great for Accessories, Body Parts, and Bundles - but Emotes have no support for this.
Specifically - I would love to allow users to customise their 8 Emote wheel slots from in-experience. We have seen that trying to change the users outfit from in-experience will currently wipe their emote wheel entirely which is very unfortunate and seems to be killing much of the momentum & potential that UGC Emotes have on the Roblox platform.
