Allow specific users access to server console

Sometimes I just want to log on my game server, take a screenshot of any errors, and leave. But since only my main account has access to the server console, I have to go through the whole “OMG The creator’s here!” spiel, followed by a questions and suggestions session followed by admin and gold begging on every server I go to check. I don’t want to be rude to the users, so I politely try to greet them and answer a few questions on each server, but this is mentally exhausting and time consuming. Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful to have users and fans, but I can only take so much. :open_mouth:

I think it would be fantastic to be able to allow one or multiple users to have access to the server console. This way I could log in as an alt and get what I need without disturbing the game or upsetting anyone because I didn’t answer them.

Perhaps as an alternative and even better solution would be to give obc members (or rbxdev members) the ability to go into incognito mode. This would be identical to the existing account including userID, except the name would appear different in-game, and the appearance changed to that of a new account. This would save time from having to watch commercials from a non-BC account, and also would let me keep access to things like gamepasses to help me test their features.

FromLegoUniverse made his own developer console that lets you choose who can view the server logs. I believe you press F4 to open it (correct me if I’m wrong, Lego)

For avoiding the “OMG the creator is here!” if you have a custom playerlist, just auto set your name to something else. Solution found :stuck_out_tongue:

Or, ignore them, which is what I usually do. Maybe not the best policy, but people do like ones that play hard-to-get /s

If you’re just specifically intent on finding and patching errors you find, you could use Google Analytics. But otherwise this is also a feature that could be useful.
