Alt + B + LMB to Select Locked Objects In Viewport

(See comment below) Before a recent update that changed the behaviour of some of the ribbon bar’s tools, you could select the Lock tool and it would override the Cursor, allowing me to toggle an object’s Lock property from the Viewport. This was much easier than digging through an Explorer with thousands of objects.

After the recent ribbon bar changes, they’ve removed the tool override and it’s now a toggle for objects currently selected. I understand this makes it consistent with the other property toggle tools in that toolbar section, but now there is no way to unlock an object from the Viewport (without plugins or using the Unlock All button).

My request is to make holding Alt + B and clicking the left mouse button (Select) would override the Lock property and make the object selectable. Alt + LMB already selects individual objects within a model, and adding B makes the action less prone to accidental inputs (the additional key could be anything, but Alt + B is, as far as I know, unassigned so I chose that).

If you click the tiny arrow then you can toggle “Click object to lock”. This should probably be made more obvious.

If the button isn’t grayed-out, you can press and hold on it instead of having to click the the tiny arrow.

This is hilarious because I did click that tiny arrow before writing this and it did not drop down to show that tool, but double clicking does make it drop down

It’s a little difficult to see in this video but I’m either not clicking exactly on the tiny arrow or I’m double clicking or there’s a cooldown or I’m just an idiot?

It still would be nice to seamlessly be able to select locked objects in the viewport for minor adjustments without toggling Lock, but at least there’s still a way to unlock objects so this feature request is now much less of a priority.

Thanks for the correction!!
