Always needing to sign in when I open Studio

studio always seems to log me out if its been a few days or the need to sign in every time I open it, this only started happening the last 2 or so months and it is honestly getting quite annoying.

Sometimes it gets me to login through the browser or gets me to fully enter my login and enter my 2fa code, at times it may not and automatically be signed in, but it also opens another Studio window that says login failed while the first one is fine.
As far as I know it’s up to date, it has updated a few times, but also it would bring up “installing roblox studio” on start up too.

Maybe I just need to do a clean install of it, I’m not sure.

Hello, I had this encounter as well, but the problem lies within the connection of your device. If you can’t login or if it takes too long - it means that it was unable to find a connection as a result of this studio will return to the login via the browser. I had this happen to me many times and just doing a reset could fix the problem.

Weird my connection is usually quite fast as I use my cell for internet, connected through USB tethering. Usually happens if I don’t use studio for a few days or more.
Ill try reinstalling it to see if that helps

I hope that works for you. But if it doesn’t work just make sure that you remain logged in. When the pop-up appears(see below) I recommend clicking the Login via the browser as it will just require you to approve the account that is already saved in the Roblox website. It’s faster than having to do the 2FA Code.

I haven’t tried it yet, just was busy and was doing other atuff, I have had this come up some times too. I do have it to keep me logged in

same issue.
one time it kept showing “Login failed” right after i logged in ~5 times in a row.

In another post im seeing people responding with similar issues with studio, its in the linked posts at the bottom of this post.

You should not need to login every time you open it, and even every few days is a bit much. Occasionally some accounts have forced credential login, and usually that occurs with a network change of some sort (so if you’re using your mobile connection from different places). If its relatively static, it could be a backend scenario, or how your traffic is getting routed from your ISP/cell company. Do you use VPN?

Some things that would help us help you:

  • a log from when the forced login occurred most recently, just to see error codes. If you can reproduce a fresh one, that’d be great.
  • a copy of the output from tracert apis.roblox.com (or dig +short apis.roblox.com on Mac)

I do use my phone cell data/usb tethering hotspot for internet maybe that has something to do with it, but I also never really had this issue until like i mentioned a few months ago.
I do know my ip stays the same other then the last 2 or 3 digits, based on the nature of cellular services.

I still have not went back onto studio since making this post so Ill have to check things out once i get another chance to, been busy the last while to try a reinstall.

Did you manage to figure out a solution for this? I’m having a similar issue - it makes me log in every time I open studio (even if I open a new place while studio is already open).

Im not 100% sure, I reinstalled stuidio a few weeks ago and only had used it a few times, 2 of the times I did have to sign in but not with the full, put user and password in, it was just a browser redirect then the 2fa. Im not sure if its fixed or not, however I use my cellphone data as my internet so its not a static ip and someone did mention that it could be part of the problem. Only thing is it never happened before a few months of me making this post.

Yeah, backend might detects IP changes and then requires to re-login in that case.

If you do run into this issue again where you think a re-login is not expected. Feel free to DM the log and we can take a look to see if anything suspicious from the Studio side. But otherwise, I think there is little thing thing we can do from Studio side for situations like this. (I sometimes run into this myself when I connect to Wifi from Caltrain when commuting)

If something could be done to fix this it would be awesome, I actually jumped into studio the other day and didn’t need to login or anything but if it does happen/ when it does it can be a bit of a pain, typing in and or pasting my password in, opening my phone to my 2FA app and putting it in.

Also for my ip it’s only the last 2 numbers that changes, the rest stays the same :thinking:

My IP should not be changing as I am on the same device, same network, no VPN etc, but it still always makes me sign in - even if studio is already open. I will check my IP the next few times I use studio and can send you a log from it.

I especially find it does it, if I don’t use studio for a bit. Its been about half a week so ill see what it does when i start it again soon

Yeah, some of the token can be expires which might require you to re-authenticate in that case.

I see, its honestly very annoying though
