I am trying to design a simple, descriptive hint for my horror survival game. Simply put, when you equip the rifle for the first time, the game will give you a simple rundown in the form of a hint telling you how to begin using it, a warning, and a heads-up.
[[
MIDDLE CLICK to cock the rifle before firing.
Guns create LOUD noises that attract the Specimen.
Make every shot count.
]]
Is typing the word “cock” in this context (cocking a rifle or a gun) going to be an issue for any modbot that happens to be automatically analyzing my game and my code to find potential no-no words even though “to cock” in context of a gun is used perfectly fine outside of Roblox?
If it’s not, are there any alternative ways I could approach this?
Cocking is pretty up there in maybe getting flagged and stuff, i’d just use the term charging or chambering, especially because cocking is a term exclusive with flintlock rifles.
If you have to think about it, it’s probably not worth doing it. Although in this context it’s safe and you can probably get away with it, given how Roblox handles filters it’s just not worth it.
I’d advise going for something more straight forward or ambiguous such as “MIDDLE CLICK to Ready the Rifle before Firing”. You don’t have to be exact with it.
TextLabels and Gui in general don’t have filter, because you need to filter it in your own way, your game will get taken down soon because you are displaying swear words, i know guy got banned because he have ice cream truck meme “you know what i am atalking about” and it got moderated after like few days or weeks depends when moderators see your game.
You are 1 report away from getting your account terminated. Roblox moderations is extremely volatile and can get your account terminated for the simplest of things, I suggest you use a different word to avoid any repercussions altogether.
Allowing scenarios like this would create loopholes in the terms of service, so its likely that Roblox don’t allow it at all. I wouldn’t risk it if I were you.
