I am working on a vehicle building sandbox game. If a player sees something that breaks the ingame rules, they can report it to me. According to Roblox terms of use and guidelines, am I allowed to load that players datastores without their consent and check all their builds to make sure they are appropriate before taking action?
Depends, what I would do is simply put a place where you load all of the Player’s builds and check each one, instead of downloading them
Also I dite think thsi is too practical, as if you will have millions of Players then you will have probably too much flags, in that case you should need a team of moderators
This is allowed, yes. You don’t have to worry about breaking the rules.
DataStores exist for a reason: To view and save data.
The game maintains 50-100 concurrent players around the week. I also have created a very simplistic mod panel that lets me do this pretty fast.
Oh by the way, I am not downloading builds, I am just loading them through the mod panel I mentioned earlier.
Okay, then you are good!
Also I said that as you might (somehow) get millions of Players, so I suggest you get a team in that case, but teh choice is yours
Also @ValiantWind, I don’t know how big the structures are, but depending on the size downloading them might have some recursions on your PC, as they might take up different MB
The size of the structure doesn’t matter. Either way, he can still load a player’s data from the datastores without breaking the rules.
