An Update on Automated Action Against Modified Clients

So exploits?
I dont understand whats so special about this?

crazy how removing those holes did absolutely nothing loooooooool please explain to me how doing any of that improved game security client side anticheat is such a losing battle

that was not my point. my point was explicitly that Roblox has never made any attempts to intentionally prevent the client from running under Linux and that they further have absolutely zero obligation to make sure updates are compatible with unofficial third party programs.

it’d be one thing if Roblox officially supported Linux, but they don’t, so why should they spend engineering resources making sure updates are compatible with something they don’t officially support?

will this affect users that use roblox account manager and/or procexp?

it shouldnt affect roblox account manager

My game usually automatically bans about 5 people a day for triggering the anti-cheat. It hasn’t banned anyone since this update rolled out. Good job!

I’m not asking them to spend engineering resources I just don’t want to get banned for trying to play roblox on linux because hyperion flag #27813 needs to check for a VM environment for some reason

Adding checks to determine if the detection was triggered by a Linux user IS use of engineering resources.
Roblox has responded consistently on the Linux topic for years here. Everything that has been asked about Linux in this thread, along with many more questions, has been answered there.

Official linux support would be really good, but afaik it would entail completely rewriting the anticheat just for it to hopefully work. It’d just be giving exploiters a free pass to do what they do. Correct me if I’m wrong on that because I’m definitely in no place to speak on it for sure, but that’s the impression that I get.

An unfortunate, but necessary evil. Hope you guys can find a feasible solution, and if not, I hope people start to become a bit more understanding to that. Thanks for the security updates, keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for preventing account farming !
wait a minute-

is that what you call account farming prevention ?

Ever since this update (5/7/25), theres been 15 exploiters that were detected in one of the games im working on, i do not see any reduction so far for my games but what i do know is that it is working somewhat as it is banning some exploiters unlike before (Basically just saying to roblox developers, make server sanity checks and such!!!).

To Roblox, i don’t mind exploiters being banned as long as i can still play on The Penguin Linux.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Bloxstrap has a custom Activity Tracking feature which the Developers of games can also use to change Players’ Rich Presence Activity via the use of Local Script. For Bloxstrap to be able to see those local scripts, it would mean Bloxstrap does integrate itself into the Client to read it, without modifying it. Will this be detected by the Modified Client detector?

Roblox Only Detects If the Signature is Not the Same as Play Store/PC Client/such
Pretty sure that works via FFlags and then looking at client logs.

Bloxstrap is only watching the client’s logs in order to do this. they don’t ever modify the client directly like you believed they did.

They are. They are adding server authoritive characters which means walkspeed and such will be server side.
