Legit this is the only reason I still haven’t switched.
Why are my vanilla icons being overridden in the new studio UI?
just realized I was a slow typer and it should be fixed on full release.
Still though, Can the color scheme be changable?

Learning that Studio has a Quick Open Actions window probably just boosted my productivity like crazy. I prefer using my keyboard much more than clicking buttons. I can officially care a lot less about the toolbars or layout.
Yes there’s a max visible tab width currently. I’ve made a ticket to look into this further with the team.
Early stages? It’s fully able to print “meow” when searching. I think it’s very well ready. (joking btw)
Yes the UI for editing is definitely clunky (though we did recently change it so you can at least select “Move Right” for the last tool so it pops to the far left). It’s OK for quick add and edits. Which is tough when people are building tabs from scratch as a starting point.
If you take a look at the JSON files where your tabs are stored, it’s not too bad to move stuff around that way. Or you could try @TenebrisNoctua’s tab generator:
Script tab groups and tab pinning would be useful.
Yeah Quick Open Actions is often overlooked! If you find that’s your primary interface, you could just hide the toolbars are trim them down quite a bit.
My main concern of the new UI is that a lot of essential functions are missing. like Redo and undo, Game settings, etc. You might want to make sure those essential functions are placed back in view by default as it will make a lot of new users confused and unable to complete basic tasks.
It’d be great if we could use these buttons without having to make a custom tab.

and if we could still use Alt + L for the lock tool.
Seriously, why can’t we just edit the existing ones?
Foundation Colors are actively being worked on. Studio has pretty specific needs compared to the player app so there’s a lot of conversation around the color palettes. Explorer team is involved in that discussion.
We already know that any odd desktop scaling causes blurry/fuzzy issues. We are working with the engine folks to resolve this but in the meantime, the best thing you can do is choose a scaling that’s either 100% or 200% - the worse problems appear with non-integer scales (eg 150% or 1.5x)
There’s a secondary issue with the fact we introduced new icon sizes in this new UI. Some existing icons don’t scale cleanly (optimized for a 16x16 grid) and community plugin icons are also affected.
So, yeah, kind of a complex thing to diagnose and fix — but we are working on it.
You can duplicate an existing tab and hide the original one. The reason why originals are not modifiable, is that they are synced to the version of the current Roblox Studio application.
Ok. As long as I’m able to use the icon pack I’ll be fine with the new UI
There’s only one issue I’m aware of that is specifically related to switching tabs back and forth and I’m hoping we can get the fix in for that before January.
We can (see the Windows screenshot in the OP) but it takes up window space and most of the Windows folks really dislike that.
Instead I would suggest, for your most frequently accessed tools, build a toolbar that has all of them in one tab or start utilizing keyboard shortcuts for maximum efficiency. There’s also Quick Open Actions (Cmd + Opt + P)
Keyboard shortcuts should be totally unaffected by this UI. I see that the Lock tool has a couple of shortcut options and the defaults are unchanged. Let me know if you’re seeing differently.
Undo / Redo explicitly mentioned in the OP…
Then don’t force yourself learn a new layout and go back to using an outdated and overly bloated layout via custom ribbon tabs?
I keep crashing or the application keeps “Not Responding” on windows when resizing any window inside of roblox studio, super frustrating
