Android Crash Rates

Before I explain, I’d love if everyone who reads this post and has a game with a decent playerbase could chip in with their own crash rate, memory usage, and fps metrics. Currently there’s very little publicly reported data out there that we could find, and I’d love to gather data here in this thread for I and other developers to reference.

The studio I work at recently released a game (Fashion Stars) and we’ve been monitoring our crash rates very closely on release. We’ve been seeing a steady crash rate of roughly 2% or less on iOS, and practically 0% on consoles and PC. However, our android crash rates sit at a steady 10-15% no matter what. I know <2GB android devices exist and are particularly unstable on Roblox, but our memory usage metrics show only around 1.2-1.4GB (After a recent optimization update we saw an instant drop to 1.21GB, but no obvious drop in crash rates) of usage on average for android devices, which should fall well within that 2GB range. We’re also seeing around 27-33 fps on average for android devices, roughly 10fps lower than any other platform, and while we’re currently working on performance improvements there’s nothing telling us that’s our problem definitively.

So I’d like to ask you guys if there’s a reason these rates are so high particularly, if this is a problem with our game or just the overall Roblox android experience, if this is out of the ordinary for a Roblox game, and what suggestions developers who faced the same issues might have.

Pretty sure it’s because it has a lot of graphics and has to use a lot of ram
