Animation Editor doesn't make keyframes when editing saved animations

If you upload an animation you previously made the animation editor won’t let you add new keyframes. It looks like it can edit keyframes that already exist. I’m not sure what happens if you try to save the animation while the bug exists and I’m not going to risk trying.

To Recreate the Bug (steps shown in the video):

  1. Open a new place
  2. Add any rig, it doesn’t matter if theres accessories or Motor6Ds.
  3. Import any animation
  4. Try to set a new keyframe

Screen Recording Showing Bug:

Edit:
Windows 11 newest version
roblox studio latest update

I tried it on single frame looping animations when I made the post. When I tried it on a multi-frame non-looping animation it looked like it let me move the rig, but I’m not sure if its fully working.

Bumping, I’m experiencing the same issue still in 2026, and it makes the animation editor extremely frustrating to work with.

Hi there,

My apologies for the late response. We believe this bug was fixed a while ago and I’ll close this ticket. Please let me know if you still have issues adding keyframes.

Cheers!
