Make a custom mesh rig in blender and animate it in blender.
Export the file with the animation, and import it to studio (Already in the mesh importer you can preview the animation and you’ll see it malformed)
Open rig in animation editor and import the animation file, and it will import malformed.
Changing rest pose source only slightly changes the look of the animation, while remaining largely malformed.
Expected behavior
I’m attempting to import an FBX animation file made in roblox to blender.
I have about 50 custom rigs with about 4 animations each that previously imported without problem, but now when importing these same animations on the same rigs that worked previously, the animations become malformed. All of them without exception have this problem now.
I have tried importing the animation with the custom blender animation plugin by CAUTIONED, and it looks fine there, but limbs imported to studio that originally had copy transform constraints in blender seem to have their animation values slightly influenced by another part of the rig which doesn’t happen in blender.
I think this is a bug with the new animation import clip editor importer settings that was released a week ago.
Attached shows an animation imported before this update, followed by a video importing the same animation onto the same rig but after the update.
Further shows the animation in blender, then imported using CAUTIONED’s blender animation plugin, which looks fine but the legs are slightly wrong, which isn’t the main issue, but goes to show the possibility there’s an error in roblox’s importing code.
