Animation not playing

  1. What do you want to achieve?

I want to achieve an animation playing for the player.

  1. What is the issue? Include screenshots / videos if possible!

The issue is that animations don’t play even though I have done everything correctly.

  1. What solutions have you tried so far? Did you look for solutions on the Creator Hub?

I have republished the animation many times and looked for solutions on the developer forum but have not found anything. I have also looked for help on certain discord servers but still, there was no solution to my issue.

To my knowledge I’m pretty sure the animator needs to load the animation, not the humanoid.
Edit: My fault I was wrong i tested and it also works with the humanoid. It must be something else. Does the print statement work?

Yes the print statement works, it just doesn’t play the animation.

Also, animations play when I try them on rigs but they don’t play for the player.

I had this problem before, I fixed it by replacing the Animate Local script in the Character with a custom animation module that animates the Character the same but modular, which fixed the issue. (I’m on phone so I cannot provide the module) - So try removing the Animate Local script within the character for testing and see if it works.

I’ve tried in StarterPlayer but it still didn’t work.

Hmm, it just removed all the animations and it didn’t play the animation I through the script I made.

UPDATE

I created a new account and wrote the same script, and it worked. My account is bugged and I can’t play animations. (Idk what to do)

I think you typically load the animation onto the animator within the humanoid and not the humanoid itself, so instead of ‘Humanoid:LoadAnimation(YourAnimationHere)’ it should be ‘Animator:LoadAnimation(YourAnimationHere)’

Also the Animation instance isn’t parented I think, so it isn’t putting the animation anywhere.

I’m pretty sure that Humanoid:LoadAnimation() still works but is deprected. – It shouldn’t really make a difference in this case, especially if the account is “bugged”
