Animation rotation works, but there's no movement/translation

I’m trying to apply animations I’ve made to a three-section staff. I’ve rigged a longsword and a spear and animated them the same way I’ve done with this staff and those two worked out fine. The staff however, is giving me trouble. When I rig this staff, I make a root part that the middle section pivots off of. from there, the two other sections pivot off of the middle section. I use a weld constraint to connect the Root part to the player’s arm. I’m not the best at scripting so I’m not sure how conventional this method is, but nonetheless, it has always worked.

This is what the animation looks like, and yes I’m using Moon Animator:

This is what happens; there’s no “movement” in any of the parts, but they are still able to rotate.

I’ve tried rerigging the weapon but to no avail, and I’m pretty much stumped. Any ideas?

Use Motor6D for animations, not weld (Weld and Motor6D are different each other behaviourly but similarlly) after getting results, tell us about it

(If are you using roblox in built for handling tool (uses Weld), disabled it and create custom handler for tools)

Sorry, I probably should have said so, but I tried replacing the connection between the character’s arm and the root part with a Motor6D. It didn’t change anything.

How animation was made ?
was tool inside of what part

The weapon is a rig itself that I attached to the player with a Weld Constraint. It was animated completely separate from anything else.

Try animate it inside of R6 roblox character

putting a tool and adding a (Motor6D) to it (add a part which will as main handle in tool, combine to Part1 and tool to Part0) and parented to torso

Nothing changed. One thing I probably should have mentioned is that it doesn’t have to do with what the weapon is attached to. The same issue occurs even if I don’t weld the staff to the players arm and play the animation. I’m new to posting on the forum, so please forgive me for not including some information as soon as possible.

It’s okay, there is actually resource tutorial for animation, i recommend checking out tutorial animations

in resource, tutorial community (whetever it might)

Your animation is relaying on tool (not cframe6d) which could be reason why it doesn’t move

Wait, I’m confused. What do you mean my animation is relying on a tool? The rig is connecting using motor6Ds.

As of further testing, I found out that if I replace the staff with other weapons, those weapons work perfectly fine. It’s all to do with the staff, but I just don’t know what’s wrong with it. I hardly think it’s the method I use to rig the weapons, since I’ve said before, this method works with every other weapon.
