Anti Cheat for Doors style game?

Hello! Me and a friend of mine are developing a doors style game, and I was wondering what the best approach would be for an Anti Cheat. I’d assume it wouldn’t be as complicated as one for an Fps would be but I don’t have much experience with anti cheats as I primarily make non competitive/single player games.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Typically, people don’t hack in DOORS style games. There’s just no motive. BUT, Doors does have the entity “Glitch”, which does act as an anti-cheat. Whenever a player falls out of the map, or lags, or loads a room wrong. I’m guessing you know the gist.

So, something like that. If a player opens the next room without ever opening the door, place them back at the beginning of the room. Again, there’s just not that many hackers in DOORS. I played it for a long time and only seen like, what, 3 hackers? Just something simple like that. But if your game is like a hybrid doors-style game, where it’s super competitive, maybe add a stricter anti-cheat.

Ah okay thanks!

Yeah we don’t plan on adding competitive aspects of the game. So we’ll probably just stick with the Glitch thing. Thanks for the advice!
