for a good while now i wanted to build myself a new homestore but i always scrap the wall shape of the building even if i use reference because i think it’ll look terrible if i go any further and i dont know how to shake off that feeling
The paper and pen are your best friends.

To add on to what @LitTurtleMan said: Give walls some depth! Add some paintings, windows, vents, etc.
If your having issues with wall related builds, try to make walls that fit your theme or style:
Walls such as ones with concrete or plastic in the inside, and lines of, lets say wood on the outside, there can be multiple stripes of them.
You can also make walls that go more 3D. Inside and outside walls are most commonly used in genres like SCP and such. But it can also be used for many other games. As the post said above, try to sketch out a build YOU think will fit your homestore.
Detail is key!
-
Wall trim
-
Abstract design
-
Different colors
If you’d like to make a wall that you wont scrap take a paper and pen like @Crazedbrick1 said and sketch out your ideas and do designs that interest you and maybe give it a theme or style like a 1920’s bar etc. Good luck!
Hello, Blizzei! ![]()
Thanks for sharing this post, when building it is HIGHLY important to include detail. You should most definitely include the key objective in building which is, DETAIL!
When I build, I always prioritize planning out my project and detail. A few things I would suggest for a store is:
-
Wall Lining
-
Window Detail [LAYERS]
-
Environmental Detail
-
Floor Texture
-
Ceiling Detail [BEAMS, PIPES, ETC]
I wish you the best of luck! Next time, I highly suggest you add a photo of your current work so us builders can give you more feedback on how to improve!
Happy Building!
