About a year ago, I reached out to Roblox Support requesting the deletion/archiving of some of my items that I felt might be considered a bit controversial. I uploaded these because I knew these words were trendy at the time, but I didn’t actually understand their meanings. Once I informed myself about them, I quickly put them off sale and asked to delete them. However, a few months later I was punished despite trying to remove the items from the marketplace. My intentions were never to break Roblox’s Term of Use whatsoever.
At the time (2024) , I wasn’t able to archive UGC items manually, and that’s why I contacted Roblox Support for them to delete it. After receiving the request, Roblox clarified that the items will be deleted within 30 days. So then, I didn’t pay attention to it anymore. Proof of them receiving the request
They even clarified that “No strike or moderation action should be applied to your account as a result of this request. If you receive a strike or moderation action, please reply to this email and we will assist you further.”
Unfortunately, the items were never removed by the team responsible, and after several months, I was unexpectedly hit with a termination.
This isn’t a bug. You can archive UGC items on the Marketplace yourself once 180 days have passed since the upload date. Since it’s something you can do manually, you can’t submit a request for it. They already make that clear in the support ticket, if you read it.
No, in 2024 as I clarified in this thread , these assets were not archivable manually. I had to contact support to remove them, and just like I said, I thought they removed it but somehow they were still up.
If I knew they were still up, I would have already archive it myself.
Then what’s the point of the support form still having the option to archive?
I can attest to this because I submitted a request to archive some items on 6/18/2024 and they still haven’t been archived. I cannot archive these items myself because they were uploaded in a group that I no longer own.
Yes, thanks for pointing this out. The archive feature itself is pretty half baked and it doesn’t help anyone out that had done commisions in the past for people they no longer know/retain their old permissions with.
Not just this but - even if the group had been their own, for whatever reason if it had been locked you’re not able to edit these items whatsoever.
The reported asset is currently archived. Per current implementation, users are able to archive assets through the Creator hub. Closing this issue for now. Do reach out to us for further issues. Thanks.
