Are custom announcements against the Roblox Rules?

I would like to know if a system where a player could type in a message and broadcast said message to the entire server is against the ROBLOX Rules.

I have heard some chatter that any custom message or announcement in any game is against the ROBLOX Rules, and I would like some clarification. Does this apply only to sounds, only to text, or maybe both? Maybe it’s not even against the ROBLOX Rules in the first place.

I appreciate anyone who reaches out.

You’ve pretty much just described the default chat feature, so no, this isn’t against the rules. Any customised method of letting players chat to each other (e.g. an in game messaging service or just a custom chat) must be protected with a filter, else this would breach the following rule:

This rule doesn’t apply for sound, but be mindful that broadcasting sounds selected by a user to an entire server could expose players to inappropriate audio, since they do slip through moderation from time to time. While you wouldn’t be moderated for this, I would recommend you still be mindful of this possibility while creating your game, since this risks degrading players’ gameplay experience.
