Are sketchy marketting schemes allowed?

So I tried playing Thick Legends on my main account, and every time I did it’d kick me out. I asked on their discord if this was an issue, and came out with nothing but some random child telling me to stop reporting this bug who bore the name XxMean_KidxX, and yes I’m not being sarcastic, I could have swore he had the word “Mean” somewhere in his discord username.

After asking around for some time, a developer for the game, as well as Vurse himself, the owner told me they were going to fix said bug ASAP. Soon after, two other people reported they had the issue, but some others reported they didn’t have the issue. Now, this mentioned bug wasn’t some little issue, but the game literally kicked you every time you joined.

A quick sidenote here, Vurse is known for the Speed Run series, a popular game on ROBLOX during 2016-2019. In fact, I met Vurse once in 2017, in a Speed Run 4 server, though he wasn’t responding to anyone due to the large paparazzi-like crowd surrounding his character.

Anyway, I then leave the server due to pure frustration. A few months pass by and I eventually forget about the game. But, just recently I accidentally contacted the developer for Vurse’s game through DMs, and through there I learned that the bug was intentional and a markettting tactic.

I was completely shocked. Even the developer didn’t agree with this scheme. In my theory, the game would effectively kick anyone who had too developed a ROBLOX profile or had a one year veteran account. (Mine joined in 2016).

From my understanding, the developer, Weeve, doesn’t fully know why Vurse is doing this as well, other than the fact that it was some marketting tactic. The most plausible explaination for this is Vurse must be closing the simulator off to older and more experienced players to avoid suspicion in what I believe to be overpriced gamepasses, advertised colourfully to the young children playing the game in order to keep the demographic more naive.

Taking all this, there may even be a chance that the aforementioned young child who insulted me for reporting the bug was an alternate account or someone who knew Vurse well. My arguments with the person yielded in nothing short but them continuously telling me to stop reporting this bug, alongside unwavering attitude and inadept grammar.

In conclusion, I may be exaggerating things too much to the point where this seems like a criminal report to catalyse some sort of police investigation, but it’s nothing more than a concern and a question regarding Vurse’s methods, and if it’s allowed.

It seems scummy for sure, but I don’t think anything is specifically against it. He isn’t asking for Robux, you just can’t play the game. I don’t think its a good idea, but I don’t think there is anything he could get punished for.
