In the past few days, it has become noticeably harder to get Asia-based servers when starting a new Roblox server. Normally, when a player from Southeast Asia joins a game first, Roblox automatically launches a new server located in Singapore or another nearby Asian data center.
However, recently, whenever a player from this region starts a new server, it often gets redirected to a Europe (France) or even US server instead. This issue occurs across multiple Roblox experiences, not just one, which suggests that it’s not related to a specific game configuration.
Players from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and nearby countries have reported the same issue — even when starting a new instance, the system almost always assigns a distant server, resulting in higher latency and unstable gameplay.
This issue mainly affects leagues and competitions that rely on low ping and regional matchmaking. For many communities in Southeast Asia, the Singapore server has always been the most stable and lowest-latency option. With this issue, it becomes nearly impossible to start a match on the correct region.
(Note: I live in Indonesia, supposedly when joining a empty Roblox server, I’d be assigned to a Singapore Server)
- When the first player from Asia joins and starts a new server, Roblox should automatically assign a server in Singapore (or another nearby Asian region).
- Instead, the system currently redirects to distant regions like Europe or the US, which heavily increases ping and negatively affects gameplay quality for all Southeast Asian players
