Asking for feedback on a new game

:hot_dog: Be A Sausage and Fight Evil – When a Sausage Becomes a Hero

Hey developers and adventurers!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to save the world… as a sausage?

Well, Be A Sausage and Fight Evil is my attempt to answer that question :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

:brain: What’s the Game About?

You play as a heroic sausage fighting against the forces of evil — from corrupted condiments to mutant breakfast enemies.

Your goal: battle, upgrade, and prove that even a sausage can be legendary.

:crossed_swords: Main Features

  • Fast-paced, chaotic combat with simple controls.
  • Absurd transformations and powers (because why not?).
  • Colorful maps full of action and humor.
  • Frequent updates (or at least we try not to burn the sausage).

:light_bulb: Inspiration

The idea started as a joke:

“What if we mix anime-style action with breakfast humor?”

From there, it grew into a lighthearted project focused on fun, silliness, and pure chaos, but with gameplay that’s still enjoyable.

:rocket: What I’m Looking For

I’d love feedback, testers, and advice on improving the gameplay, visuals, and player engagement.

My goal is to grow a small but active player base — even 4 or 5 daily players would make me happy!

If you enjoy chaos, laughter, and heroism wrapped in meat, give it a try!

And if something explodes… it’s probably part of the plan.

First of all, do not use AI to create posts here, it will cause people to think it’s unoriginal.

For feedback:

  • the weights are anchored
  • the UI is cluttered and messy
  • sounds are very loud and i struggled to hear
  • theres no tutorial whatsoever so i have no idea what to do

as there is no tutorial, i left the game, since i dont have a clue what is going on.

heres my feedback!

  • The jumping animation has some weird camera zoom
  • Tools shouldn’t collide
  • Theres a lot of humanoids so I would enable streamingenabled (https://youtu.be/VDO_amtWfDw)
  • the game Idea is pretty silly (good thing)
  • the game feels pretty genuine

In my opninion altough this is not a very well made game it is a pretty silly game so even tough it may not be great, it is still pretty fun to mess around in for a bit! which is always awesome to see.

so yeah hope this helps and don’t forget to stay hydrated :fire:

Thanks for the advices. From now on, I will not use AI for making posts. I will also fix the weight tool, make the sounds quieter and add a tutorial as a UI for players to understand what do they have to do.
Give me just around 20 minutes, because it’s not that hard for me. Thanks.

tutorials should be descriptive, not take under 20 minutes. if players dont know what to do, they will leave.

Fortunately, the game concept and “rules” are very simple, so then I might need at most 3 or 4 “screens”, each one telling what to do to progress in the game. I I alreadey have fixed the sounds, and I am fixing the weight tool.

It bothers me to see people get told what they are or aren’t allowed to do. I don’t like to see people afraid to stand up for themselves. It’s not an issue for you to use accessible resources to help you communicate.

I think you should add a storyline. I think it would do your idea justice to have somewhat linear gameplay.
I believe you will be able to figure your game out other than that.

I like that opinion. So, this game is literally an attempt to gamify a comic series made by me called Salchichamán. They are currently available in spanish, but maybe I might make an english version.

Hello.

After reading your feedbacks, I have updated the game and now, these are the things I have done:

  • Reduced every sound’s volume
  • Added a tutorial
  • Fixed weight tool
  • Some billboards to know the training place’s location.

I hope I have done it right, and here is the game link so you can test it:

Thank you for your feedbacks.

I have tested the game and here is some feedback

  • some parts of the ui were messy or off place, don’t know if it is a good or a bad thing considering the game has to be silly, but I think it depends on what device you are playing on
  • For me the sausage is too slow, I don’t know for others
  • the game itself feels kind of silly (which is good) and genuine (also good)

Alongside of that, the game is good and genuine for what I’ve played
A last question, was it in the plan that I spawned in a radioactive barell?

Thanks for your feedback.

I also have noticed that, when you start playing for the first time, you are very slow, so I am going to make the player faster, and on the UI there is also a button which sets your walkspeed to 32.

About the spawn: Yes, definetly was planned.
In the first comic of Salchichamán, he is born because a Donker Worker is not able to catch the sausage of his hotdog, and when the sausage sinks into the radioactive barrel, it gains consciounsness, life and powers. If you want to know more about the game or the story, please tell me.

Walkspeed 32 for free at the start is quite fast, you could start them with a slight boost (say 20) and then let them level it up as a skill.

The fact you already have the lore for the world in your comic is a great head start, you should definitely use it by giving some npc’s conversation options that slowly reveal the whole story to the players, this could be a good hook to keep them coming back.

It needs plenty of polish, more to look at and more to do, which will also require more onboarding - add it progressively.

Nice start.
