Assigning gamepass icon and saving continuously results in a "Failed to update" response

Every time I try to set my gamepass to have a new icon, I get this response indicating the update failed. This has happened every time I’ve tried so far.

I don’t have many other details to share. I’ve tried researching this and found a video describing the issue, but there doesn’t seem to be a client-side fix regarding it.

EDIT: In the network tab, I did receive a 504 bad gateway error. (I believe that’s server-sided?)

Thank you.

Thanks for the report! We’ll follow up when we have an update for you.

Attach console logs (Ctrl + Shift + I) of any red text you’re seeing, otherwise it’ll be near impossible for engineers to diagnose the issue.

Not entirely sure how to make this efficient for Roblox staff but I’ll try doing this and marking it as the solution.

Apparently, if the file image is too large that you’re attempting to upload, you get a 504 gateway timeout error and the response message reads “Failed to update. Check network logs” on the website.

Ideally, there should be a check for file size on the client side that way developers can actually know what the issue is lol. A text that reads “file size too large” would be greatly appreciated here.

This is how the feature is supposed to work. Unfortunately, we don’t have any plans to modify this feature.

I find that a little confusing though, because the output states nothing that’s of use to the person trying to upload the gamepass image.

It would be more helpful instead for it to read something such as “file size too large.” There were quite a few articles/videos on this issue and it left people guessing what the issue was.
