Astronaut Helmet(stoecker version) no mesh

I noticed that the “Astronaut Helmet – Stoecker” variant has never had its own mesh since it first appeared in the catalog back in 2007. Normally it should share the same mesh as the standard “Astronaut Helmet,” but this one never did. I might be mistaken, but could someone confirm whether this is intentional or an oversight?

Astronaut Helmet – Stoecker : Astronaut Helmet - Roblox
Astronaut Helmet - Roblox : Astronaut Helmet - Roblox

Expected behavior

If this is an bug, the mesh needs to be added and updated

This has been fixed with other items like the broken Clockwork Headphones, it’d be nice if they could restore this.

yes that’s why I created this title

Thank you for the report. We have assigned to our team for further review.

Thank you for taking this seriously : )

Thanks for reporting this. This is really old, so we can’t say for sure what this asset is supposed to look like. It looks like there were two updates for this. One in 2007 when released, and one from 2016.

The 2007 version drew a blank (nothing shows up), and 2016 is the cube and old style accessory.

Do you (or anyone) have any information / picture on what it should look like?

As it concludes for the Roblox wiki this version just may be a duplicate of the “Astronaut Helmet”, other than that there is no clear way of telling what it looked like way back when this was made. Unless there’s more information within more archives, then who knows.

That’s what we’re thinking as well.

We’re going to wait a few days to see if anyone has any other info on this. Our best guess is that this was an error on our end.

This item seems to been bugged like this ever since it came out.

What most likely happened is that the original uploader of the hat “stoecker” messed up when uploading it seeing how the very next hat in their inventory is the current Astronaut Helmet.

This was probably just a failed/test upload and isn’t really worth changing.

In 2016 all Hat assets were migrated to more specific Accessory asset types, along with the model’s class being updated from Hat to the newer Accessory object, so all old hats have at least one version from 2016. Since the 2007 version had no data, perhaps they just made it a gray cube as a fallback.
