I have been working with AudioPlayer (or some people suggest: the new Audio API).
I have been consistently getting distortion (as if you cranked the volume level to 10) out of it specifically on my built-in soundcard. I have tried lowering the Volume of the AudioPlayer, using AudioLimiter, using AudioCompressor to have nothing, literally nothing. When I switched to my USB DAC I just noticed that it suddenly no longer distorting even though I changed nothing.
In the video, I used two different audio devices, 1 is the built-in sound card, the other 1 is a USB DAC. In the first part we use the built-in sound card, Realtek and as you can hear it is distorting heavily. In the second half we use the USB DAC and there is no distortion.
In the video, I removed all kind of Audio parts to eliminate trouble, so its just AudioPlayer running at Volume: 2, wired directly to AudioEmitter. This also happens in Studio, but in Studio its much more severe as in the Player I can just leave, switch to my USB DAC and audio is fine again, but in Studio I have to close the whole Studio first, switch to my USB DAC then the audio is fine again.
I have tried multiple version of Realtek drivers, including Windows Updates version, official from Realtek, official from ASUS, unofficial from ASUS Staff, and unofficial from DTS. All of them fails and gives me distortion. When I recorded the video I didn’t expect that it would distort IF the problem is my sound card. But, voila. The audio is distorted even on recording, so I believe this is the engine behaving weird.
In Roblox, if you go to Settings > Output Device, what does it say for the device, and what other devices are you able to select?
In a private message, could you please send us a dump of your Windows system information?

Is this problem still happening for anyone? If so, we’d really appreciate it if anyone who is hearing it could provide the requested info. We have been unable to reproduce the problem ourselves so far.
It’s definitely better on my end now, but there’s still some noticeable reverb/echo in open areas, kinda like it’s bouncing around and giving that “cave” vibe. And, this only happens in Studio, not in the Player.
