Ever since upgrading to Windows 10 last night I’ve noticed an audio glitch when clicking the Play Solo button in Studio. When clicking it, it plays a very loud, short, screeching sound and can get quite annoying. I’m not the only one who has noticed this either, I’ve heard complaints about it on Twitter too. Hopefully Roblox could fix this soon because it truly is irritating to hear that putrid sound every time I want to Play Solo.
From what I heard, Roblox has done no testing what so ever on Windows 10 yet. So compatibility isn’t guaranteed.
At least we’ll start putting a list of things together to improve it.
I am getting Windows 10 on my Lenovo Yoga 2… now. So, I will let you know once it is all set.
Update: the sound also happens when clicking Play and Start Server in Studio
Ok, there is a weird noise that shows up for like a forth of a second. Everything else audio wise seems to be working fine.
I hope Cortana gets… better…
I want to be able to say “Play Imagine Dragons”, and it plays some song by Imagine Dragons, not open up a web browser and search “play imagine dragons”
another update: I’ve noticed the sound also plays when clicking Play on a game when the Roblox Player opens and when teleporting to a place in a Universe…
I can confirm this is happening.
It happens every time a new place instance is created
Here’s a video I made showing it:
Getting the same noise as well.
Confirmed.
Good thing I didn’t download Windows 10
Just got word from a friend who uses Windows 10. Apparently it happens when launched from Edge but makes a different noise from Chrome, if that helps at all.
Can confirm I’m getting this as well.
Holy crap it scares me EVERY time.
I swear to god, every single time it makes me jump.
Just got Windows 10, and this is happening for me as well.
Every time I join a game, Play Solo, open a place in Studio, or create a new local test player. (it doesn’t happen with the creation of a local server instance, only for new player instances)
Edit: Found a different thread where this issue was addressed in. Oops
Has been happening to me ever since i got w10.
It’s not just Roblox that has this issue though, I have other games that get this annoying static, I just mute everything now.
I wonder if it will be fixed.
Happens to me to, for a while I thought it was my speakers popping because they were going bad.
