Platform:
macOS (Tested on M4 Pro and normal M4 Air)
Roblox Studio (latest version as of September 2025)
Summary:
When using Roblox Studio on a second display in full-screen mode, the auto-complete/intelliSense feature (e.g., for Lua scripting) fails to appear or function properly.
Actual Behavior:
When Studio is in full screen on a second display:
The auto-complete window does not appear at all.
This makes scripting difficult or impossible when using Studio in full-screen mode on any external monitor.
Workarounds:
Resizing Studio to windowed mode resolves the issue.
Keeping Studio on the primary display also resolves the issue.
Steps to Reproduce:
Connect a second display to your Mac.
Open Roblox Studio.
Drag the Studio window to the second display.
Enter full-screen mode (green maximize button).
Open a script and begin typing code that would normally trigger auto-complete.
Observe the lack of auto-complete suggestions.
System Details:
macOS: Sequoia 15.6
MacBook M4 Air and Pro
Roblox Studio Version: 0.688.1.6880864
External display: General display, consistent across my 3 owned displays.
Expected behavior
Auto-complete should appear near the cursor and provide suggestions as expected, even when Roblox Studio is running full screen on a second monitor.
I’ve forward this to the team and they are actively working on this. In the meantime, I recommend to disable this beta feature for future notice.
Just want to confirm - as long as you enabling “next gen studio preview”, you cannot see any popout tooltip and menu, right? If you can, would you also try to right click on Explorer widget and maybe other widget, like 3D main view?
Hi @M_etrics, we haven’t been able to reproduce this issue on our side. We’ll update you if we find a way to reproduce it. In the meantime, could you try disabling the beta feature or using non–full-screen mode? Thank you!
