i was working on an animation for abt 2 hours, tabbed out for around 10 minutes, click back in, and it seems like roblox studio restarted or something? this caused me to lose ALL of my animation progress and there’s no autorecovery file even though i have autorecovery enabled and i have it set to every 5 minutes.

If Studio restarted itself and there isn’t an AutoRecovery file, there’s unfortunately a good chance that progress is gone.
One thing I’d still check is whether the animation was saved as a draft. You can open the Animation Editor and see if it shows up under Drafts.
Also, was this after the recent Studio update? I’ve seen a couple of people mention Studio behaving strangely since then, so it might be related. If so, it would probably help to include your Studio version and whether you were using Team Create.
Hopefully Roblox can figure out why AutoRecovery didn’t kick in.
