Yesterday I tried uploading a batch of UGC items and the majority of the items I uploaded were flagged with the somewhat new “reduced visibility” warning and it has left me somewhat confused as I don’t understand why many of them were flagged.
The first item of confusion is shown below and linked here the item is entirely unique and I attempted to search the catalog to try find any similar caps to which I couldn’t, I tried multiple keywords to find items of the specific type (rilakkuma, kuma, bear, etc.) and I couldn’t find anything that similar yet it has still been flagged for whatever reason.
The next instances of this I noticed from what I uploaded yesterday is a batch of items I uploaded using the mesh shown below and linked here, I uploaded 4 variants yesterday (all of which were subsequently flagged).
This item I would half understand because there are a fair few studded bands uploaded to UGC, but I uploaded another batch with the same mesh, similar textures, from the same uploading account, to the same group, only 2 weeks prior. None of which have this reduced visibility warning.
Another example from items I uploaded yesterday, though a bit of a more understandable one is another batch of caps I uploaded based on the character domo. All cap variants I uploaded based on the character were also marked as closely resembling other catalog items which as I said is a bit more understandable as many pretty similar domo items already exist on the catalog, but these still use original meshes and textures and are slightly unique as I was yet to see any featuring a mustache as added in the one below or in specific colorings of some others I uploaded.
I understand the purpose of the feature is to help combat the huge issue plaguing UGC in the last year or so where groups are stealing original creators assets in mass and reuploading them with little to no repercussion until recently but this reduced visibility flag has existed for a few months now but just now seems to be unusually strict, and yet I’ve still seen exact replicas of items from groups I own be shown to me on my own recommended page.
Expected behavior
Preferably loosen up the restriction a bit as receiving this warning completely cripples the items from being found and in some of these cases where I can’t even find an item closely resembling the ones I have created and been flagged for it is very frustrating as a creator.
