Automatic Translations turn English text into non-English text

The original post I was reporting this bug on was fixed, however newer instances of this bug have appeared. The bug is that the Automatic Translator is translating posts written in English into (from what I assume is) the language of the OP, even though my system/Roblox language is set to English. Disabling the Automatic Translator shows the original/un-translated post being English. You can identify whether the translator is enabled by the icon above the topic timeline on the right being blue.

I have only encountered this issue with the linked post. From my perspective there shouldn’t be any kind of markers to indicate to the automatic translation system that it should translate English to Portuguese. I have never set my language or region to that anywhere.

Hey! I’m not sure I understand - you mean the Portuguese translation is showing up when it shouldn’t?

Thank you for reporting this issue! It has been fixed.

This issue is still happening.

Post is english, but is showing as russian, even though I’m (hopefully obviously) an english user on the english language.

I have a theory that the automatic translation functionality is accidentally doing translations in reverse (ie if it thinks a thread is in [foreign], instead of translating from [foreign]>[native] it translates [native]>[foreign])

In my report, I reported what Russian words can get filtered with no reason. To clearly show what these words are, I used the Russian language.

You misunderstand, the Automatic Translator is making your entire post Russian. The first picture CraX_573 sent is what it looks like with the Translator disabled (which I think is the correct version), and the second picture is what it looks like with the Translator enabled (where more of your post has become Russian, even though we are English speakers. The Translator should have only made any Russian words in your post English, but it has turned the English words into Russian.)

Did you write your message in German or English? If I enable the Automatic Translator, it makes your post Russian:

However, if I disable the Automatic Translator, your post appears in English:

It is making your English words into Russian words, instead of German words into English.

I’m noticing a trend, in both of these posts they mention the language by name, e.g. the first post says Portugese and the one you sent says Russian in it.

Huh, that one’s in English for me, translations enabled or disabled. Only the title has become Spanish:

Thank you for reporting this issue. I’ve manually fixed the errors in the posts you shared. We’ve also noticed that our translation solution isn’t always perfectly reliable and can occasionally process translations incorrectly. We’re actively working on improving the reliability of this feature.

That’s not russian, that’s german. I’m also seeing that same issue on my end too (even though claude/the reply above me says that it’s been manually fixed)

I can’t even figure out why it’s randomly decided to translate it into german of all languages. I’ve never been there, never spoken it, never set my language to it.

Oops, don’t know how I didn’t notice that. I thought there was some consistency in what language it chose but no

Thank you for reporting this issue. I made that post in English, and I have no idea why my post was automatically translated into Portuguese.
