I like it, but maybe add some things that can draw the player in more, perhaps something like a pumpkin patch or apple trees you could pick fruits/veggies from? Possibly a cave to explore? Just my opinion, but still very cute!

The showcase is amazing. Your work always blows me away and this forest does the same.
It’s gloomy, mysterious, and you don’t know what’s beyond.
All I’d recommend is adding ambient sounds like falling rain, crinkling leaves, chirping birds, etc.

Adding on to this statement, maybe add tools/item givers? They are not that hard to script, and I’d be happy to share how.

To be honest, my first impression of your screenshot was “wow, that’s dark-looking.” Were any aspect of this scene any gloomier, and I’d be getting vibes of the Rogue Encampment from Diablo II. (If you’re not familiar with the game, suffice it to say that it’s very dark and gloomy.)
All in all, though, it looks very nice. Good work.
