Beta Features:
I am currently using “Next Gen Studio Preview” in Beta Features.
Problem:
Appears to be an issue when the Avatar Settings window is undocked.
I go to the Avatar tab and click Avatar Settings to open the window.
After moving the window out of the dock and closing studio the panel will no longer appear nor be openable.
Expected behavior
I expect the window to open everytime when clicking the Avatar Settings button.
I have to “Reset Layout” everytime this issue occurs in order to see the window once again before not being able to see it again next studio reopen.
We are not able to reproduce this problem. Do you have any other information that might help get us into the state where this happens? Does this happen to any other plugin windows?
I also have this problem for some reason: whether clicking the avatar setting icon on the tab “Avatar” or from the file dropdown, it says that it’s open, but it’s not showing up.
However, when doing the same process on another device, it works; it’s only for some particular devices. I was thinking it was a client-side issue and not an experience/server side, but when I uninstalled Roblox Studio and re-downloaded it, it still wouldn’t let me open the avatar settings window. The most probable cause is a file issue where the path got jumbled up, but idk; I’m no expert.
What version of Roblox Studio are you using? Would it be possible to get a screen recording of you reproducing the issue?
I’ve tried in both windows and mac versions of roblox studio and doing the following:
opening a place file
showing avatar settings
undocking avatar settings
closing studio
reopening studio
reopening the same place file (or a new placefile)
I still see the undocked avatar settings panel showing up. I just want to make i have the reproduction setps right, so any additional information you can provide would be great.
@chrrrvs or @GoodBoi_Alt25 - please see the request from a couple of weeks ago for steps for us to try to reproduce this, because we have not been able to reproduce the problem internally. Until we can reproduce it, we can’t fix it. So please help us help you by giving us detailed steps!
I’m going to close this since we can’t reproduce it. For anyone (including the people above who’ve said this happened to them): it would be very helpful if you could tell us exactly what you were doing to get this to happen, including whether it only happens to the Avatar Settings panel or if other panels have this same problem.
